How do I manage student communications and send emails to one or multiple students?

1. Navigate to the communications window

You can get to student communications in several places. You can get to it at the following:

On the student's profile, there is a button labeled "Communications"

Some tables with data directly tied to a student may have a communications button under the action button. For instance, you can manage communications with students directly from the Work-Based Learning table

You will see all communications with the student in the table.

2. Click on New

3. Choose if you'd like to select individual students or send based on student group membership

You can set up dynamic student groups to streamline announcements such as "All Active WBL Students". To learn more about creating dynamic student groups, see this article: https://help.eduready360.com/en/article/how-do-i-manage-addedit-my-student-groups-1xvassc/?bust=1706624677902

4. Choose the recipients you'd like to log a communication for

5. Choose the type of communication you'd like to log

The "Email" type is the only communication type that we actively perform an action after logging the communication. For the "Email" type, we actually send the email to the students for you directly from the system. They can reply directly to that email which allows us to log all communications back-and-forth in the email thread.

All types other than "Email" are simply there in case you want to log a communication that happened aside from emailing in the system.

6. Specify the subject

7. Add a message

8. Finally, click add communication

If you're sending emails, it may take some time to process the communications and send out the emails. Once the emails are sent, the communications will show up in each students' communication logs.
