How do students create work logs and submit them for approval?

What are work logs?

When work-based learning students log in, they will see their Schedule. Students can add events to the calendar for one or more WBL experiences, which allows students and WBL coordinators to keep track of work schedules. Students can later add a description of the work completed to each event and submit a Work Log for approval. Any event added to a student's Schedule will be visible on the WBL coordinator's Schedule. Work Logs are also shown for each student of the Work-Based Learning screen for WBL coordinators.

How do students add an event to the Schedule?

First, the student will need to select the WBL experience from the selector as shown below.

Next, they can either click and drag the green box on to the calendar or click on the Add >> button to add an event.

How do students edit an event or record a description of work?

Once the event is on the calendar, it can be drug to other days and resized to adjust the date and time, or you can click on it to edit the details as shown below. Break hours are used to specify any hours that need to be subtracted from the total for lunch breaks.

Mobile Application for Jobready WBL and CTE-360

You asked and we listened! We are now introducing the long-awaited mobile app. It's important to note that you cannot do everything in the app that you can do in the main application because some things are better fit for a web browser. On the flip side, there are also some features far better fit for a mobile app. We will continually be adding features to the application so please check back to see if any new features that you may find useful have been added.

Current Features

Students can clock in and out of their work-based learning experiences, provide information about what they did for the day, and selected any skills that were assessed for the day. The location will be tracked when clocking in and out so that you will be able to see exactly where the student was when performing those actions.

Can employers and related contacts be imported?

As part of the onboarding process, we can import employer data for you. To do so, we require data to be provided to us in two spreadsheets (CSV Files). A template for each is attached to this article.

What is a SIS Integration?

A Student Information System, or SIS, is software that is used to manage student data like grades, attendance, and course enrollments. Depending on what SIS your school is using, we may be able to sync data from your SIS into Jobready WBL, CTE-360, or K12-360. This is what is referred to as a SIS integration.

Why would I want to use a SIS integration?

Integrating with your SIS, allows students, guardians, teachers, and course data to be transferred to our application automatically on a daily basis. For instance, this means that as new students are added to your SIS, they will show up in our application. If you do not use a SIS integration, you would need to create the student accounts on your own.

What Student Information Systems do you integrate with?

We are able to work with any software that complies with the OneRoster API specification as well as a few others. We currently support v1.0, v1.1, and v1.2 of the OneRoster API. We also have a PowerSchool plugin that can be used and we also support nightly CSV file imports via a SFTP server. How do students upload a pay stub?

Once logged in, the student will click on “Documents” found in the menu on the left side of the screen and click on the "Pay Stub" navigation item. After clicking on “Pay Stub”, the student will see all of their pay stubs, the status of approval, and validation that tells them if the pay stub hours match the work logs submitted in the system for that pay period. To add a new pay stub, the student will click on the new button in the top right corner of the screen.

After clicking “New” the student will choose their WBL Experience from the drop-down menu. (Most students will only have one option here, but some may have multiple).

Now the student can use the drop-down calendar to enter the start and end dates of the pay period related to the pay stub they are uploading.

Next, the student can add the number of hours they worked in the pay period.
