What are task alignments?
What are task alignments and how do they show up on your task list.
Tasks can be aligned, or linked, to other tasks for the purpose of meeting state requirements, such as Pennsylvania's Programs of Study. To manage the alignments of a particular task, click on the action button (three dots), and selecting the Alignments option. Here you can view currently aligned tasks and see suggestions for other tasks that may be related. You can accept or dismiss suggested alignments using the plus sign and trash can icons.
Tasks can also be aligned to academic standards, industry certifications, and NOCTI test objectives as well. These can be managed by clicking on the action button (three dots), and selecting the Standards option.
In any of the alignments or standards selectors, you can also search for related items by typing a keyword in that field.
NOCTI and Industry Standards are typically added to your application as part of the onboarding process. If you would like to add additional standards, please contact contact us via live chat in the bottom right corner of the screen.
What happens when the Department of Education issues a new Program of Study task list?
CTE-360 will automatically align all state tasks to the School Task List as long as the language in the state task mirrors that of the School Task List. If the language changes in the new State Task List, CTE-360 will provide a notice indicating that there are tasks in the School Task List that are not aligned to the new State Task List. These tasks will need to be manually aligned. The red icon next to tasks 106, 107 and 108 in the screen shot below will appear when viewing the State Task List if this is the case.
How do I align State Tasks with School Tasks?
From the Task Lists tab, select the State Task List. For any task that shows the red warning icon, repeat the following:
Click on the action button (three dots) and select "Alignments"
CTE-360 will suggest alignments based on common language. You can also type key words into the Alignments space to find additional tasks. Select the School Task (by clicking the green "+" symbol) from the suggested alignments if it represents the same competency presented in the State Task. Finish by clicking "Save Changes".
If no School Task appropriately represents the competency presented in the State Task, you will need to create a new School Task that does.
