1. Navigate to the course management page

2. Click on the Graduation Requirements tab

3. You will see a list of all graduation requirements that are already defined

4. In this example, we will be creating a new one. Click on New

5. Specify the name of the graduation requirement

You will want to create one for each different way a student can graduation based on credit requirements. Some places have different requirements for different pathways. For instance, standard academics, CTE, etc.

6. Write a description for the requirement

This will be shown to the student when they are choosing a requirement for their course plan.

7. Specify the number of elective credits that are required

An elective in this system is any subject that is not defined as a required subject for the graduation requirements. For example, if you require a specific number of "Physical Education" credits, it will not be treated as an elective. If you don't require "Physical Education" credits, that course will be treated as an elective. We will define these specific subject requirements later in this article.

8. Specify the total number of required credits

This is the number of credits a student will need from 9th to 12th grade in order to graduate in this pathway.

9. Specify the credit limit

This is the number of credits the student is not allowed to surpass from 9th to 12th grade.

10. Next, you'll be able to specify how many credits are required per grade level

11. Finally, specify any credit limits per grade level if applicable

12. Click on Add Graduation Requirement

13. Find the graduation requirement we just made in the main list

For this example, we will be configuring subject requirements for "Standard Academics"

14. Click on the action button

15. Click on Subject Requirements

16. Now you will see a list of all subject requirements for the graduation requirement

17. Click on New to require another subject

18. Choose the subjects you're requiring

If you choose more than one subject, it will be treated as an "or". So if you choose Physical Education and Health, the student will be required to get this number of credits for Physical Education OR Health.

19. Specify the total number of credits required for this subject

This is the number of credits required from 9th to 12th grade

20. If you require a specific number of credits for this subject pre grade level, specify those here

Leave blank if you don't require a specific number of credits per grade level

21. If a student is not allowed to take too many credits for this subject in one grade level, specify those limits here

Leave blank if there is no limit

22. Click on Add Subject
