3. Complete the information fields in the Product window

New categories of products can be added using the New button. If categories have already been added in the system, the category can be selected from the dropdown. Examples of categories include Equipment, Supplies, Textbook, Online Resource, etc. Categories determine if the product is item based or product based.

New Types can also be added in same manner. Examples of a type of product is Laptop Computer. The Type will determine any custom fields associated with the product. For example, a laptop computer may have the custom fields of CPU Speed, Purchase Date, and Funding Source associated with it.

4. Click Save to save the product.

Once the Product has been added you will see a box in the Products tab.

You can upload an image for the product as shown below.

Additional product information will also be shown. You can view a list of the product items using the Items button as shown below.

When viewing the list of product items, you can add new items of the product by clicking the New button in the Items window.

The Documents button allows you to store documents related to the product. Examples of product documents include warranty cards, safety manuals, user guides, etc.

When the Documents button is clicked an upload window will appear to upload a pdf document.

The last button on the product opens a dropdown menu. A useful feature in the dropdown is the Maintenance Schedules feature.

Clicking Maintenance Schedules will open a management window. New schedules can be added by clicking New. Existing schedules can be edited using the action buttons next to the schedule. You will receive notifications in the system of any maintenance schedules that need attention according to the set frequency.
