What's the difference between Complete/Incomplete and Grade Scales for skill sets in Work-Based Learning?

1. When configuring your WBL Type, you will have the option of specifying Complete/Incomplete or Grade Scale for tracking skill set progress

2. When set up using Complete/Incomplete

When the WBL type is set up for complete/incomplete, it will show exactly that when viewing the student's skill completion for their experience. There is no granularity as to how well they know the skill. Because of this, when work logs are approved with a skill attached to it, that skill will automatically be complete upon that approval.

3. When set up with Grade Scale

When you have the WBL type set up to use a grade scale, you will be assessing how well the student knows that particular skill. In this example, we selected Advanced but you could choose Basic if they know the skill a little bit but are not yet Proficient. You can set up these grade scales however you'd like and determine which levels are passing and which are not. You can also initiate employer evaluations to have your employers assess your students instead.

Because the skills have varying levels of competency, even if they are attached to a work log, we will not automatically set them as graded because we don't know what grade scale range we should give the skill.
