What does it mean to make a private employer?

Making an employer private means that only the creator of the employer will have the ability to see contact and demographic information about the employer. All correspondence between the school and the employer must be made through the owner (creator) of the employer record.

1. Private employer checkbox

When creating or editing an employer, you will see a checkbox to make the employer private. If you are editing an employer and do not see the checkbox, that means that you did not create the employer record.

2. Status of the employer shows the owner

After an employer is made private, anyone that is not the owner of the employer will see "Private to " and the name of the owner as the status of the employer.

3. Private employers show "Private Employer" in place of address

After an employer is made private, anyone that is not the owner of the employer will see "Private Employer" instead of the address

4. All actions will be removed

Any employer that is private will no longer have any actions for non-owners of the record. This will prevent them from manipulating the record or seeing information about contacts associated with the employer.
