How is the date that the post graduation questionnaire go out get calculated?

The date that the post graduation questionnaire goes out is calculated based on the students graduation year, the post graduation month, and the years after graduation fields. Because we base everything on the school year, we start by adding the years after graduation to the student's graduation year. After that, we figure out the date that it should go out based on where that month falls in the school year we just calculated. Let's do a couple examples

Student's graduation year: 2024
Years after graduation: 3
Post questionnaire month: November

We start by adding the years after graduation to the the student's graduation year: 2024 + 3 = 2027. Now we know that the post questionnaire will go out in the 2027 graduating school year (2026-2027). Now we look at the month to see what year the month resides for that school year. So for November of the 2026-2027 school year, the questionnaire would go out November of 2026.

Student's graduation year: 2024
Years after graduation: 3
Post questionnaire month: April

We start by adding the years after graduation to the the student's graduation year: 2024 + 3 = 2027. Now we know that the post questionnaire will go out in the 2027 graduating school year (2026-2027). Now we look at the month to see what year the month resides for that school year. So for April of the 2026-2027 school year, the questionnaire would go out April of 2027.

The school year in the system is defined as August through July. So July will be calculated as the greater of the two years while August will be part of the smaller of the two.
